Satellite information:
- Fengyun-2 meteorological satellite is the first-generation geosynchronous orbit meteorological satellite developed by China. Its main task is to observe the earth, and to obtain the cloud images of visible light, infrared rays and water vapor from the earth observation every hour. The Fengyun-2D satellite was launched on December 8, 2006 by a Long March-3B rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. This satellite runs closely with the rotation of the earth and is stationary relative to the ground (hence the name geostationary satellite), so it can continuously take cloud images of the same area on the earth 24 hours a day. The graphic animation allows the viewer to clearly grasp the movement and change of the cloud.
- MTSAT is a Japanese-based multi-function transportation satellite navigation system supporting the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), which aims to improve the reliability and accuracy of signals through supplementary reporting of the GPS system. The weather satellite is geosynchronous, located above the equator at 145 degrees east longitude, about 35,800 kilometers above the ground. This satellite runs closely with the rotation of the earth and is stationary relative to the ground (hence the name geostationary satellite), so it can continuously take cloud images of the same area on the earth 24 hours a day. The graphic animation allows the viewer to clearly grasp the movement and change of the cloud.
